A PROFESSIONAL VISIT FROM HAVARD

 

 

A delegation of nearly 35 professors from Havard Business School together with several distinguished members from the University’s staff on the 20th of June 2019 were endowed with the opportunity to ride on the SGR as part of their trip.

In the past few years,Harvard Business has sought to prioritize Africa in its teaching,research and case writing.

The delegations objective was to increase the number of cases focused on Kenya by meeting with public and private sector,seeing and engaging with local companies to craft cases that will then become part of the University’s curriculum.

According to Marx Fabrigas,a professor at the school,the trip was focused on an increasing need to engage with Africa,research on its business dynamics,and use them as case studies in future.

                                           

                                           

                                           

The Ministry of Transport P.S,Mrs.Esther Koimett,Kenya Railways philip Mainga,KPA’s Daniel Manduku and the assistant general manager of China Roads and Bridges Company joined them on the train to engage them on a discussion concerning the SGR and its importance to Kenya and broader East African Economies.

                                           

Prof.Caroline Elkins who was incharge of the delegation mentioned how the mutual agreement between Kenya and China has born fruit and as a university will look forward to incorporate the SGR into their teachings.

The HBS faculty after reaching Nairobi will visit a wide range of businesses and industries, hold a lunch time discussion with Michael Joseph,former General Manager of Safaricom and lastly have the honour of meeting the President.
